UTOPIA ENTERTAINMENT PROVIDES SPECTACLE FOR BLOCKBUSTER HOLLYWOOD CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR
En Espanol
LOS ANGELES, CA – December 3, 2002 - Utopia Entertainment Inc, a full service design and Production Company provided entertainment elements for the upcoming NBC Broadcast Special to air December 8, 2002. The NBC Special is an hour-long presentation billed as “The Blockbuster Hollywood Spectacular, A Holiday Tradition.”
In addition to the traditional holiday themed floats, marching bands and nearly one hundred celebrities that parade down the famed Hollywood Boulevard, viewers watching the broadcast will see a host of performances by some of today's hottest music acts and entertainers. The parade traveled by the world famous Grauman's Chinese Theater, the historic Roosevelt Hotel, the Pantages Theater, the Kodak Theatre, and the Hollywood and Highland Complex.
Utopia Entertainment provided a major stunt to publicize the soon to be released DVD of XXX for Tri-Star/Columbia Pictures. This stunt, a spectacular and spine-chilling 170-foot high fall on Hollywood Boulevard, will be featured prominently in the special. Utopia provided the stunt concept, project management, and stunt coordination.
Additionally, Utopia produced a float for Universal Studios Home Video that featured Doc Brown and the DeLorean time machine to promote the release of the DVD Trilogy. Doc Brown powers up the vehicle and in front of the crowds lining the boulevard, disappears in a burst of pyro at exactly 88 miles per hour, leaving only a trail of fire. Utopia provided concept design, float design & fabrication, special effects, pyrotechnics, project management, show direction, and execution.
Bob Bain, veteran producer of "The 2002 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards," and "The Miss America Pageant," and Jeff Lotman, CEO of Global Icons, a licensing firm, were the executive producers of the broadcast. Mr. Lotman who ran herd over the entire project and was ultimately responsible for the success of the production stated, “My hat goes off to Utopia Entertainment for helping to make this the successful event that we all envisioned.”
Bob Bain said of Utopia Entertainment, “Working with Utopia Entertainment was a pleasure and I am truly pleased with the end results, a spectacular stunt and a well executed production.”
The parade is a 71 year-old tradition that takes place on the Sunday after Thanksgiving and has been called "the largest celebrity parade in the world" by incorporating over 100 Hollywood stars every year. This year's event was taped live on December 1 and will air December 8, 2002 from 7-8 p.m. EST.
