UTOPIA ENTERTAINMENT PROVIDES SHOW AND STUNT DIRECTOR FOR THE "BATMAN" STUNTSHOW, SIX FLAGS GREAT ADVENTURE
Jackson, NJ - May 1, 2004 - Utopia Entertainment Inc ., a full service design and Production Company, provided the Show and Stunt Director for Six Flags Great Adventure's new production of Batman V/S Catwoman, "Catfight!" The latest production in the Batman Stunt Show genre is unveiled this season at Six Flags Great Adventure in this high-octane, action adventure show. The famous caped-crusader and his sidekick Robin face their nemesis the Joker, as well as that fiendish feline Catwoman, in an attempt to thwart their evil plans of destroying Gotham City.
The show features incredible special effects such as burning buildings and the collapse of a water tower that sends hundreds of gallons of H2O onto the smoldering flames. Another memorable moment comes when Joker sails high above the audience suspended from his hot air balloon and must face off with the winged hero mid flight! But the real star of the show seems to be Catwoman who manages to claw, scratch and hiss her way around the set engaging both Robin and Batman in some complicated and impressive stage combat sequences. Utopia provided Stunt Coordinator and Show Director Todd Lester to oversee the stunt choreography and show direction. Todd has been providing such services for over 10 years and has become well-known because of his positive attitude, diverse skill sets, safety record and his creative approach.
"This show is difficult for the actors, specifically the actor portraying Robin. He is literally fighting on stage for 2/3's of the show! It's for this reason that I spend extra time developing both performance and prep techniques to avoid injuries, on and off stage," states Todd Lester. "The enormous amount of stage combat in this particular show is very demanding, but also way cool for both the cast and the audience." In addition to the explosions, show action effects, and stunt choreography the show also features a personal people mover, "Segway" that is involved in a complicated fight scene. The new show opens in May and shall run the entire summer season, multiple times per day.
