UTOPIA ENTERTAINMENT TO PRODUCE NEW PET SHOW FOR SEAWORLD SAN DIEGO

En Espanol

LOS ANGELES, CA – March 27, 2002 - Utopia Entertainment Inc, a full service design and production company is in production on what may be the world’s largest pet show, Pets Rule! Working in tandem with the production team of SeaWorld San Diego and with animal expert Joel Slaven of Joel Slaven’s Professional Animals, Utopia is creating a show where pets rule.

The new show is being developed for an outdoor theatre that most recently housed “The Wings of the World” bird show and was once home to “City Streets.” “This three quarter surround amphitheatre presents both a challenge and an opportunity as the general performing space is substantial. It is for this reason that show will feature multitudes of animals on a scale rarely seen in any animal performance”, states Danny Burzlaff, President of Utopia. “In other words, this show will feature hundreds of pets!”

Due to open in May 2002, the pet show shall also feature special effects, custom sound track, totally new sets and props, new sound system and perhaps the most amazing animal antics ever.

Don Ludwig, Vice President of Entertainment for SeaWorld San Diego states, “Although the show scenario is still confidential, you can be sure that this production will have wondrous animal/trainer interaction, amazing domestic pet behaviors and mass amounts of animals - the likes of which have never been seen before on a single stage!”

“Clearly we were presented with a challenge of producing a show that breaks the rules for pet shows. Our creative team and that of SeaWorld are determined to create a totally unique experience, one that lifts this type of production to new heights. The term ‘out of the box’ is not only a key phrase but a mantra”, says Norman Kahn, COO of Utopia.

A key element to this and of all of SeaWorld’s pet shows across the country is the message of adoption. According to Joel Slaven, “many of the animals seen in these productions are rescued from animal shelters, in some cases because their owners thought them to be un-trainable.” This new show shall make a point to educate the guests on the wonderful opportunities that await them behind the caged doors of their local animal shelter.
