UTOPIA ENTERTAINMENT DESIGNS PORORO 3-D ADVENTURE FOR SAMSUNG EVERLAND SOUTH KOREA
MAY 25, 2011 - LOS ANGELES, CA –Penguin fury runs rampant in South Korea as the country’s most famous, flippered, cartoon character makes his debut appearance in 3-D! Samsung Everland opened the doors to its newest attraction, Pororo 3-D Adventure, featuring the popular children’s animation series that is gaining in popularity worldwide. Pororo and his friends are featured as the stars of this new three-dimensional attraction that is a retrofit to the theme park’s existing Victorian Theater.
The 3-D film follows the adventures of Pororo, the little penguin, and his buddies as they test out Eddy’s latest invention – a rocket powered sled. The adventure leads them on a dangerous journey to the land of the Lava Monster whom the brave little group must defeat in order to save the snow fairies and their beloved village. In the end, the little adventurers are victorious and the audience is invited to share in the celebration.
Utopia Entertainment worked alongside OCON, the creator of the Pororo, and the design and entertainment teams of Samsung Everland to provide the overall design of the new attraction. Pororo 3-D Adventure consists of a brand new exterior covered queue line and grand portal, interactive preshow, 3-D Film experience (custom animation with original storyline), live character show and a themed retail gift shop.
“The challenge was to utilize a massive existing theater space and to create something intimate and immersive for kids. We also worked with OCON on the 3-D film scripting and development of the animation as they had never produced a 3-D film before. The attraction features several show layers including a live performer & animated preshow, and a live costumed character introduction into the 3-D film, that when combined make this attraction incredibly unique, compelling and fun,” states Daniel Burzlaff, President and Chief Creative Officer of Utopia.
